Testimonial:
"Val and her staff were an answer to our prayers and a blessing! Everyone was ready, willing and able to take care of my grandfather's needs. Open and easy communication helped facilitate my family's relationship with Val and her crew. Dependable and reliable and anticipating of everything we needed, we would recommend her and use their services again in the future. We cannot thank her enough for al they did." Sue P.

About Us
Mission Statement
To respectfully and compassionately
meet the needs of our clients and our families
by listening, planning, educating and delivering
the highest standard of individualized care
Care Response is the vision of founder Valerie Dockter RN who began Home Helpers private duty home care company in 2004. Her belief in a client centered approach to care with reliable and competent staff established the company as one of the foremost eldercare agencies in Washtenaw County. As she continued to meet and listen to families and referral sources, similar requests for more services grew. The need for a proactive approach to chronic illness, the need for an advocate and liaison when navigating the healthcare system, and the need for more safety and prevention programs inspired the formation of Care Response. The true impact of Care Response was personal as Valerie’s father began experiencing the effects of chronic COPD. The somewhat predictable course of exacerbations, including ER visits and unplanned hospitalizations, are now proactively managed at home with daily monitoring. She and her family are truly grateful for the technology and the positive impact on her father’s quality of life.

Our low employee turnover combined with continuous training and education, and low absenteeism (1.4% call-in rate for all shifts scheduled in 2007!) have allowed for exceptional continuity of care and successful Client outcomes.
Care Managers:
Our Care Managers are veteran acute care RNs with years of clinical knowledge and experiance. They focus on supporting home care Clients and Caregivers by visiting at least once a quarter, evaluating the Client and care plan, and conducting an onsite Caregiver review. Follow up includes coordinating with the family and/or healthcare team to assure continuity and continuous improvement of our delivery of care.
